Timur Vermes ("He's Back") will give the opening speech for the exhibition "Defending Democracy", which can be seen from May 28 to June 22, 2025 during opening hours at the city library in Motorama.

Democracy guarantees every member of a society the right to participate in all political processes. This goes hand in hand with the guarantee of fundamental and human rights. However, these guarantees have been and continue to be attacked and jeopardized worldwide - or not granted in the first place. The exhibition presents political cartoons, comics and graphic novels by international artists that deal with precisely this issue.
