The ten artists in the last exhibition at the Artothek im Rosental are exploring the surfaces of the art space, expanding it, shaping it, docking onto it, inscribing themselves, searching for traces of art, tidying up, finding things never seen and bringing something back for the last party.
Over 200 exhibitions have left their mark on the Artothek's picture room. The artists have made the space, the surfaces, the levels their own, imposed their will on the room. Appropriation. Each time an end and a new beginning.
They have told their stories, layered narratives. Leaving layers behind. Art remains until the end. Everything becomes visible. We are grinding the Artothek!
And we look forward to seeing you again in fall 2025 after the move to Burgstraße 4
