An exhibition by Syrian artist Ghazwan Assaf as part of the International Weeks against Racism
Ghazwan Assaf comes from Aleppo and fled the war in Syria. He makes art to process his experiences of the war. He draws and creates miniatures that document Syria's cultural heritage and architecture: "In exile, our houses and streets only exist on screens or in works of art that reflect the pain of displacement." The engineer, who never learned to paint, found a way to express his feelings and thoughts about flight and hope through art.
A cooperation between Koeppenhaus, Pro Bleiberecht MV and Heinrich Böll-Stiftung MV (Rostock)
Exhibition until Wed, 16.04.2025, opening hours from Tue-Fri 2-6 pm, Free admission
