Vernissage of the exhibition "Sacred Shadows - the Semana Santa - Rituals in Light and Darkness"
The opening of the exhibition by photographer Andi Jung offers exciting insights into the fascinating world of Semana Santa. In addition to the impressive photographs, guests can look forward to a varied program.
The exhibition is dedicated to the traditional Holy Week processions in southern Spain, which have been deeply rooted in cultural life for centuries. Andi Jung used an analog medium format camera to capture these ritual processions, in which light and shadow play a special role. The photographs, created using an elaborate lithographic technique, have a timeless effect and lend the scenes a haunting intensity.
A short keynote speech will first introduce the tradition of Semana Santa. The photographer will then talk about his artistic project and explain the creation of his works in a moderated discussion. Igor Seiji Moriya will provide musical accompaniment with atmospheric guitar sounds to round off the evening.
An evening full of impressive images, exciting perspectives and musical accents promises to be a special prelude to the exhibition. The bar in the house will also be open that evening, and there will be plenty of opportunities to get into conversation with one another.
We kindly ask all interested parties to use the registration form, as it helps us to plan the event optimally.
The exhibition can be seen from April 25 to June 14, 2025 from Tuesday to Friday 12 - 5 pm and Saturday 10 am - 5 pm in the gallery rooms and the salons of the house. The exhibition is barrier-free.
