Vernissage: Gandras - Land of the White Stork von Jasper Walter Bastian.

In the organizer's words:

Gandras is a documentary work about the current situation in the border region between Lithuania and Belarus. With the collapse of the Soviet Union and the creation of the European external border between the two states, many communities along the border were torn apart.

Jasper Walter Bastian is a German-American photographer. He studied photography at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts and photojournalism at the Danish School of Media and Journalism.
In his photographic work, Bastian explores the complex relationship between territory, identity and belonging. His first monograph "Gandras - Land of the White Stork" was published by Charcoal Press in 2022.
