LUFTUNRUHE

The Luftunruhe project brings together three artists from Berlin and three artists from the Cologne area who deal with drawing or line at the borders to other disciplines. The word air turbulence describes the turbulence of the earth's lower atmosphere, which becomes visible when observing celestial bodies. It is caused by temperature and pressure differences that heat the earth's surface unevenly. The effects are visible to the naked eye as a twinkling of the stars or in the telescope in the form of movement and blurring. These effects are referred to as seeing in astronomy, among other things. Observation requires a certain amount of concentration and calm. Drawing serves as a seismographic instrument that makes observations such as these tangible, translates them and sharpens our awareness of the perception of fleeting and subtle things. On display are works on paper, objects, installations and texts.

Mülheim Night: Saturday, April 5, 2025, 7 p.m. - midnight

Finissage: Sunday April 20, 2025, 12-4 pm, with a reading by Jennifer Eckert (poetry, current scholarship from the German Literature Fund)
