Vernissage & Exhibition: "Urban Perspectives" - Photographs by Gianna Reich

The Duisburg artist Gianna Reich presents her exhibition "Urban Perspectives" at the event location BORA at Dellplatz. The vernissage will take place on Saturday, June 07, 2025 at 18:00.

Gianna was born in Mülheim an der Ruhr and has lived in Duisburg's Dellviertel district since 2016. In her artistic work, Gianna specializes in street photography and street art. With an unembellished view, she documents urban moments in her home town and captures the special atmosphere of the Ruhr region. Her photos have a very documentary, artistic and slightly melancholic aesthetic, with a touch of dry humor. Since 2021, she has published her limited edition photo calendar "quick & dirty" every year, which shows her snapshots from the Ruhr region.

Under the artist name "Dellephant", she is also active as a street artist and shapes the cityscape with stickers, tiles and paste-ups - not only in Duisburg, but also beyond.

Whether through street art, photography or her work as a city manager, Gianna's life and interests revolve to a large extent around urban life in cities, with a particular focus on the Ruhr region and Duisburg. What makes a city worth living in, what does it look like and how do you design it? This is the core theme of her efforts. The exhibition offers an insight into Gianna's photographic work and invites you to discover the Ruhr region from her perspective.

After training as a media designer and studying German and applied cultural studies at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), she now works full-time as a project manager for city management and neighborhood development at Duisburg Business & Innovation (DBI).
