Opening of the art exhibition by Ray Moore:

Hailing from Brookhaven, Mississippi, artist Ray Moore, known as The Poet That Paints, explores the interplay between seriousness and levity in his art. Inspired by music and his African-American roots, he creates a visual language that transforms hip-hop into paintings by combining figures, bright colors, lyrical fragments and powerful statements. As a statement, the art exhibition "Serious Play" is playful and serious at the same time: Take life seriously but take it also playful!

Moore, who has lived in Munich since the 1990s and is a self-taught artist, works not only in his main discipline, painting, but also in many other fields of art, including installation, digital art, music production, hip-hop and poetry. His works are deeply rooted in his experiences, in which a serious position can always be recognized. "You should feel my pictures and take a stance," says the artist.
