Forests under water - a fascinating world in transition
Just green slime in the lake? Algae are so much more than that! Dr. Sarina Niedzwiedz and Dr. Nora Diehl from the University of Bremen (Department of Marine Botany - BIOM) will take you into the fascinating world of kelp forests. Kelps are large brown algae that occur on the coasts of temperate and polar regions. However, climate change and rising sea temperatures are having a significant impact on these important ecosystems. In their presentation, the scientists explain possible future scenarios for underwater forests and what these could mean for us.
Kelp is more than just an algae! Come along and immerse yourself in the exciting world of kelp!
