This fall, songwriter Vienna Teng returns with her mashup song "We've Got You" - her first new music in over ten years. The new mini-EP reflects the complexity of her life over the past decade: Vienna's work in climate action, community building and motherhood.

Two songs, both titled "We've Got You", are like fraternal twins: "We've Got You (I - Spark)" is an indie-pop homage to Vienna's inspirational role models, "We've Got You (II - Comfort)" is a chamber folk anthem, showing Vienna's gratitude to caregivers and the many unappreciated heroes within social movements, often women. When both songs are played simultaneously, a new, complex whole is revealed: a mashup that was intended from the start.

On her four studio albums - from the chamber folk sounds of "Warm Strangers", to the jazz influences of "Dreaming Through the Noise", the indie epic "Inland Territory" and the upbeat electro-pop of "Aims" - Vienna has paid tribute to her cross-genre role models such as Paul Simon and Tori Amos, while at the same time forging her own unique path. Her captivating live performances and online presence have earned her a loyal fan base across generations and continents.

"We've Got You" marks the re-emergence of artist Vienna Teng - and now climate organizer, who now offers action workshops at concerts and online for music fans. "Mashups kind of embody how I live now," says Vienna. "I would love to see more songs in this form. Maybe it's another way that music can help us deal with complex things and live a little more courageously."
