Micro festival of the poetry slam

The fact that the poetry slam is a versatile art form should no longer be a secret in Aachen. After all, the live literary format, in which people compete against each other with self-written texts, has been delighting audiences in the imperial city since 1997.

The recipe for this success story is the unpredictable mixture of cabaret, comedy and the finest poetry. It is no coincidence that the format, which was declared a UNESCO cultural heritage site in 2016, ranges from uproariously funny stories and fast-paced poetry to political wit and emotional stories.

This diversity will be celebrated at the "Viva la Slam - Micro Festival of the Poetry Slam". With three consecutive poetry slams of different styles, the audience can expect a colorful grab bag of first-class young stage literature. The individual slots each last one hour and can be attended independently of each other.

"Viva la Slam" is an event organized by the association satznachvorn e.V. and takes place with the kind support of the City of Aachen as part of the "Kaiserplatz im Blick - Gemeinsam gestalten." campaign month. Admission to all festival slots is free of charge.
