As soon as the name Vivien Goldman is mentioned, the word "pioneer" immediately follows. Pioneer of feminist music journalism, of music television, of contemporary musicology, professor of punk and pioneer of post-punk. She was the first to write about Bob Marley. And she continues to write. "The Revenge of the She-Punks", for example, a feminist history of music from Poly Styrene to Pussy Riot, was published in German translation in 2021. A new book will be published in November: it is called Scribe Vibe and brings together texts that have been published since 1975 and connect chairs instead of remaining between them: before Vivien Goldman, punk, reggae, Afrobeat and jazz were received as completely disparate genres. We will hear texts from both books. She has drawn connecting lines in her work. These were overlooked by her contemporaries - mostly men. She rarely made music. But when she did, it was good: Vivien Goldman will definitely be performing a few of her rare and legendary songs today.
