Lauren Newton works with participants on extended vocal techniques that go far beyond melodic singing, drawing on her experience in a wide range of jazz styles. The spectrum of the voice is more easily reached and perceived through free improvisation, and each vocalist gains endless possibilities for an individual sound world and fascinating music. Everything is explored: group and individual sound, pure tone, noises, melodies, language, rhythm, pauses and the unexpected in the musical process.
The unconventional musical working methods improve the participants' perception and ability to evaluate. In addition, music takes on a deeper meaning for them as well as for the listeners. Guided by the musical moment, creativity is unleashed and we experience the world of the human voice in a completely new way!
