The British vocal ensemble VOCES8 is one of the leading groups of its kind in the world. The popularity of the eight singers, especially among young audiences, is remarkable. Their music videos have hundreds of thousands of views and their albums have been listened to millions of times. And yet there is a consensus that a live performance surpasses all recordings. VOCES8 inspires with a convincing combination of musical skill, tonal appeal and captivating stage presence. Under the direction of countertenor Barnaby Smith, the ensemble has developed a repertoire that goes far beyond its core competence in European Renaissance music: it also includes classical music, jazz, pop, film music and its own arrangements.

The "Twenty!" program looks back on the first 20 years of VOCES8's existence and brings together the most popular and best-known pieces of the dynamic octet in one concert. It is music that the members of the ensemble grew up with as well as pieces by contemporary composers that VOCES8 can rightly call friends.
