In its new choir program "Reel Love", the youth choir addresses loneliness, longing and community in the digital age.
"Doomscrolling", "FOMO" or "square eyes". Who has never heard of at least one of these terms? Whether in an article about cell phone addiction, a video about the "loneliness epidemic" or parents telling their children to finally put down their cell phones or tablets.
The internet and social media are shaping our lives. We are flooded with information - news about global grievances is followed by discount codes and promotions. Social media connects people all over the world and at the same time can create extreme feelings of isolation and loneliness.
Where are the boundaries between the analog and digital worlds blurring in everyday life? How does "Generation Z" classify its own relationship to digitality? To what extent does making music together promote community and cohesion in a world that seems to be becoming increasingly anonymous?
With the concert program "Reel Love", the Vokalhelden youth choir addresses loneliness, longing and interpersonal relationships in the digital age. You can hear choral music on a current topic and rousing songs by "Wir sind Helden", "Laing" and "Von Wegen Lisbeth", among others.
