They must be chirping! But with pleasure - because when the colorful chicks of rare breeds hatch again in the museum, scurry around happily and loudly ask to be heard, children, young people and adults enthusiastically take up their observation posts. The chicken children have an important message: they promote respectful treatment of farm animals and sustainable agriculture. Many hands-on stations show how personal consumer behavior influences animal welfare.
Puzzles, research, try things out or simply marvel: there is plenty to discover on a stroll through the exhibition. From the toad to the ostrich, from small and slippery to huge and hard as a bone - the eggs are as varied as the animals that lay them. The wild relatives of our museum chicks invite you to a secret rally with the Black Forest Capercaillie Association...
