Vom Hören zum Lauschen Klang-Festival in & um Schloss Freudenberg

Immerse yourself in the world of sound. Wind harp, water singing bowl, chladnis, the room of silence, the humming stones, the sound room with its 13 gongs and the three sound stones - all these are stations in the "Field of experience for the development of the senses and thinking" in and around Freudenberg Castle.

Sounds can touch us, make us sad, calm us, seduce us, heal us, but they can also make us ill. We can listen, listen away or listen and much more; the whole person is always involved, far beyond just hearing with our ears.

As Joachim Ernst Berendt said: "The world is sound". What could be more natural than to delve deeper into the world of sound in the "Field of Experience" in search of questions, answers, ideas, inspiration, impulses and experiences. Over three days from 29.8. to 31.8.2025, sound will be the focus of the Field of Experience.

"From hearing to listening" stands for: Lectures, impulses, workshops and concerts.

• The workshop with music psychotherapist and voice therapist Sabine Rittner is all about "Klangkörper - Körperklang" - exploring and experimenting with breath, voice, trance, movement and space. (29.08. // 2 p.m.) To the tickets

• "The gong as a gateway to inner spaces" in this workshop, led by the neurologist and psychiatrist and music therapist Dr. Peter Heß and the alternative practitioner Heike Heß, the focus is on self-awareness, embedded in an introduction to the theoretical background of the therapeutic work of Dr. Peter Heß. • Music therapist and instrument maker Christof Linhuber will be annealing and hammering gongs by hand. (30.08. // 2 p.m.) To the tickets

• Wolfgang Saus, renowned musician and vocal sound researcher, introduces the art of overtone singing. (31.08. // 2 p.m.) To the tickets

• Another highlight will be the workshop with gong maker Johannes Heimrath from SONA-Gongs. The gongs in the castle's sound room were made by him, including the centerpiece of the sound room: Kosmos with a diameter of 150 cm. Johannes talks about the production and development of gongs. He talks about his journey into the world of gongs and introduces visitors to playing and handling gongs. (31.8. // 2 p.m.) To the tickets

On all three days, there will be impulses at the stations as well as listening and sound tours. From hearing to listening - an invitation to the world of sounds, sound production and hearing.
