Vom Wissen zum Handeln: Biodiversität in der Stadt

Hardly any other term is used as often as "sustainability" - but how do you make the step from knowledge to action? This question is the focus of the Citizens' University series "From knowledge to action: Shaping sustainability in Düsseldorf".

On June 17, Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Hahn, holder of the Henkel Endowed Chair for Sustainability Management at the Faculty of Economics at Heinrich Heine University, will discuss the impact of climate change on the plant world and concrete approaches to preserving urban biodiversity with his guests.

• How is climate change altering the habitat of plants and animals in the city?
• What developments are we facing - globally and specifically in Düsseldorf?
• What can we do to actively promote the diversity of plants and animals?
• How does scientific knowledge contribute to this?

After keynote speeches by

• Prof. Dr. Petra Bauer (Institute of Botany, Heinrich Heine University) and
• Tobias Krause (Biodiversity Officer of the City of Düsseldorf)

we will discuss biodiversity aspects in small working groups using everyday products, present research projects and develop ideas for action.

This event is part of the Heinrich Heine University's Citizens' University and is organized by the Heine Center for Sustainable Development and the Sustainability Office of the City of Düsseldorf. It will take place in meeting room 2 on the 2nd floor of the university building.
