"Hürdenspringer 15" Benefiznacht

In the organizer's words:

No April Fool's joke! On April 1, 2009 - exactly 15 years ago - the Hürdenspringer mentoring project was launched to help young refugees, trainees and students overcome their personal, educational or professional hurdles. Since then, more than 1,300 mentees have benefited from the dedicated support of volunteer mentors to help them achieve their personal goals.

"We had many goosebump moments! I was often speechless at how much we both achieved together," says mentee Diana, describing her experience.

The hurdle jumpers invite you to the benefit night on 19.09.2024 at the Kulturstall Britz in Neukölln.

The hurdle jumpers are taking the anniversary year as an opportunity to create even more goosebump moments together and raise money to continue mentoring pupils. Numerous top-class artists support and shape the charity night and make it an inspiring and dazzling event:

Max Raabe - From the 1920s to Raabe Pop. Ian Wekwerth on the grand piano
Katharina Greve - Comic reading with absurd humor, subtle contemporary analysis and striking lines
Fil - master of digression, with Berlin charm and snark
Sebastian Krämer - Chansonnier of a special kind with humor and a sense for great poetry
Bernadette La Hengst - discourse rock & changing instruments: one-woman show
Elisa Aseva - Poetic short texts as a skimming product of the everyday life of an unskilled worker

The evening will be hosted by entertainer Gayle Tufts, who elegantly bridges the gap between her native Brockton Massachusetts and Berlin with her captivating "Dinglish".

"My mentor showed me that you can't give up straight away!" (mentee Rascha)

The ticket purchase is intended to secure our student mentoring and thus support young people in Berlin in the transition from school to work: Together with their mentors, they work out a suitable future perspective. The students develop personally, their self-confidence is strengthened and their school performance improves.

Admission costs 35 euros (37 euros incl. advance booking fee). With the purchase of a tandem ticket for 70 euros (74 euros incl. advance booking fee), the free admission of one of our active mentees is co-financed in addition to your own. If you would like to give more: the ticket price can be rounded up to 100 euros.
