With her art project "Of Hands and Music", Ute Krafft creates lifelike sculptures from the hands of important musicians. In this way, she creates an image of contemporary music history in a different way: the sounds are played live, preserved on sound carriers or hard disks - the hand sculptures can be viewed and "grasped" directly. And they remain.

Even in past centuries, artists paid great attention to the depiction of hands in the form of lifelike handprints. Ute Krafft: "In this way, I am taking up an old tradition and bringing it into our modern age. I am convinced that hands, as tools of creative expression, are wonderful testimonies to artistic personalities."

Each exhibition in the "Of Hands and Music" series will be accompanied by one or two small concerts. Musicians whose hand sculptures will be shown will play - and at some of the concerts in the series there will also be musicians whose hands I will only mold on the day of their performance.
