It goes without saying that the anniversary atmosphere of the Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra on the occasion of its 200th birthday will also be duly celebrated at the Musikfest: with a guest performance by the internationally acclaimed Finnish soprano Camilla Nylund. Coming from a lyrical-dramatic background, she has now carefully - yes, she can! - the highly dramatic roles of Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss. Not a change of subject, but rather an expansion, as she clearly states: "I always sing with my voice and don't try to make it bigger or darker in any way." Brünnhilde and Salome - these are the central operatic heroines of her Bremen debut. One has herself burned at the stake after the suffering that the Ring of the Nibelung has brought upon everyone, the other takes revenge because her love desires and fantasies have been harshly rejected by the prophet Jochanaan. With Brahms, Wagner and Strauss, the Bremen Philharmonic and its GMD Marko Letonja not only pay homage to three heroes of their repertoire, but also spread out a hypnotizing, intoxicating carpet of sound for Camilla Nylund so that she can convincingly bring her heroines to life!
