Against what historical and archaeological background does the Praetorium of Cologne continue to exist beyond the 4th century? When did the Roman period end and what significance did the East Frankish royal house have in the early Middle Ages? Sebastian Ristow, curator at MiQua for the period of the first millennium, explores these questions in an illustrated lecture based on archaeological and historical sources.
