VORTRAG Museen ohne Künstlerinnen? - Frauen in der Kunst

In the organizer's words:

"There are only two categories of women - goddesses and doormats," Francoise Gilot, Picasso's former partner, wrote about him after their relationship. In the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg, only 1.5% of the works are by women and that is not an isolated case! The art world is characterized by a male gaze, which is evident at all levels of the art world. It has never really been a pleasant place for women, but there have always been many female artists who have been prepared to take this path nonetheless. In this lecture, we approach a feminist art history in order to honor the unknown women in art.
Free admission. Registration requested so that we can plan better. However, spontaneous visitors are always welcome without prior registration.
