In cooperation with the Verein für mecklenburgische Geschichte und Altertumskunde e. V. and the Stadtgeschichtliche Sammlungen Schwerin, the next lecture event will take place on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 6 p.m. in the Kulturforum.

Dr. Jakob Schwichtenberg, Schwerin/Grabow, will once again give a lecture on the topic:
Recognized cultural heritage - The restoration of Schwerin Castle between 1974 and 1990

The handover of the Throne Room to the public in 1974 - initially as a concert hall for the Philharmonic Orchestra - not only marked the start of the restoration of the historic 19th century state and public rooms, but was also associated with a re-evaluation of Schwerin Palace. The monument had now become a recognized cultural heritage, which was regularly reported on GDR television.
