VRHAM! Digital and Immersive Art Biennale 2025, June 11-18, 2025

Hamburg, Oberhafen/HafenCity

In June, the Oberhafen in Hamburg will be transformed into a lively center for digital art, new perspectives and shared experiences. The VRHAM! Biennale brings together artists, creatives and the curious to discover, reflect on - and help shape - immersive media art.

VRHAM! Exhibition - Experience an exhibition that rethinks classic art forms with digital media. From virtual reality to 3D-printed, kinetic art, holograms and interactive installations - the exhibition shows current positions of international artists that expand our way of seeing, feeling and thinking. The VRHAM! Exhibition works like a classic art exhibition, so you can simply buy a ticket for a specific day in advance online or on site (by EC or credit card), come at any time during opening hours and enjoy the exhibition.

EVOLVER directed by Marshmallow Laser Feast - Discover a multi-sensory journey through the human body: The 40-minute mixed-reality installation by British artist collective Marshmallow Laser Feast begins with an immersive audio meditation led by the voice of Cate Blanchett. You then enter the VR area, where you can see and feel your own breath - meditative, profound and visually gripping. This immersive installation can be experienced by 6 people at the same time and starts at a set time. So book your ticket for a day and time that suits you and your friends and please arrive at the location at least 10 minutes before the start.

Digital Art Lab - What will the digital art of tomorrow look like? Curated by Peggy Schoenegge in cooperation with the DKB STIFTUNG and CAA Berlin, the lab offers practical workshops, inspiring talks and space for exchange. Open to professionals, students and anyone who is curious. Simply register via Eventbrite, come to Oberhafenquartier and rethink art together with us!

MOIN Showcase-To kick off the Biennale, we are presenting five immersive projects together with MOIN Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein, which were funded as part of the "Innovative Moving Image Formats" program. The artist teams will show their prototypes, all of which explore digital storytelling with new media - moving, courageous and forward-looking.
