In the organizer's words:

Let's see the vulva!

Shame, zone, or trivializing, sexualizing names. This is how the female sex is usually referred to. The exhibition Vulva mal sehen! is intended to show the beauty and diversity of the female sex and to combat the taboo in both language and media representation. It is also intended to encourage women and take away the "shame".

Therefore: a topic that not only affects people with a vulva, but everyone.

We don't just want to show aesthetic images in the exhibition, but also take an educational approach to beauty ideals and make it clear that vulvas don't have to mean eroticism.

The artists Julia Jensen (watercolor), Valentina Schöpfel (nude) and Nam Intal (abstract photography) are exhibiting both realistic and abstract works of art, each of which has been created especially for this exhibition. In addition, the short film "Muschimaus" by a Muthesius film student will be shown, an animation with charcoal on paper and oil on glass.

We are planning to add further science-based program points with a gynaecologist and a sex therapist. We will also create an interactive photo wall with stickers and quotes and a reading corner with selected literature.

The exhibition will use a silent art auction and QR codes to collect donations for an official organization that campaigns against female genital mutilation.

Opening hours: 12 - 6 p.m. (longer if there is a special program).

Closed on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.
