What populism does to your emotions. An event in cooperation with #HANnovativ

The term populism is used almost inflationarily these days. This makes it all the more important to take a closer look. What do we mean by populism? What categories of populism are there? At what point does populism possibly create a feeling of disturbance? How do my fellow human beings perceive populism?

Workshop:
We want to address these and other questions interactively with the participants at the beginning.

Impulse lecture:
Afterwards, the political scientist PD. Dr. Philipp Köker will give a keynote speech entitled "Is populism a threat to democracy?". The lecture will shed light on why populist parties have been increasingly successful in recent years, why the media, academia, civil society and politics have repeatedly warned of the risks of populism in the context of our democracy and how citizens and politicians can behave.

PD Dr. Philipp Köker is a political scientist at Leibniz Universität Hannover. His research focuses in particular on presidents and political parties in international comparison. As an expert, he regularly comments on current political events for national and international media
