In the organizer's words:

Have you always wondered how old an object is that you have inherited or found? Do you have old documents that you can't read or decipher? And do you wonder what the story behind these things might be?
On Provenance Research Day on April 9, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in P26, you will have the opportunity to learn something new about very old things and ask your questions to experts from the University of Bonn. These may be old letters, diaries and other documents, but also art and everyday objects from earlier times as well as natural history objects. The focus is explicitly on the exciting stories behind the objects and further research opportunities, not on an assessment of their monetary value.
Participation is free of charge and no pre-registration is necessary. However, it would be helpful if you could send us information or photos in advance by e-mail or post.

Experts from the University Museum, the Mineralogical Museum, the Institute of History, the University and State Library, the Library of Asian and Islamic Art History, the Institute of Archaeology and Cultural Anthropology, the Botanical Garden, the Museum Koenig and the University Archives will be on hand to share their knowledge with you.
