How can we grasp the past as a former future in order to filter statements about probabilities, possibilities and the shaping of the current future? Why have most of the futures hoped for and imagined by people never materialized?
We look at the route from Deutz to Mülheim under the heading "What it really looks like - exploring imagined futures and construction sites". The concept of reconstructing history to visualize the past as a cultural technique is presented at prominent points along the route.
The area is unknown to many people living in Cologne. There is undoubtedly potential in the area and this is already being exploited. Building sites bear witness to big plans, power and abuse of power. The building site is a symbol for all the levers in the urban planning structure.
In addition to urban and planning policy aspects, the urban trail presents a special view of urban aesthetics. It's about the curb. It's about the landmark. Once again, the day will show what cultural urban planning means. The appearance of Cologne is a socio-aesthetic task!
