The tour:
We start at 11:00 am at the "Plattleite" stop and make our way to the nearby Lahmann Park, which commemorates the Lahmann Sanatorium that was once located here. Just a few steps further on, we reach the entrance to the idyllic Weißer Hirsch forest park. There we follow the picturesque course of the Mordgrundwasser stream, which leads us past the Stechgrund springs. At a fork in the trail, we take the path uphill and climb up to the Napoleonschanze. Once at the top, a fascinating view into the distance awaits us. Our path leads us on to a sculpture, artistically carved from Schöna sandstone. It depicts Chiron, the centaur from Greek mythology - a fascinating creature, half man, half horse. From here, we continue our hike until we reach the Wolf Hill and its highest point. The base of the former lookout tower, which was built in 1911 under the direction of city planning officer Hans Erlwein, is enthroned high above. Even though the Wolfshügelturm is no longer visible in its original form, the ruins bear witness to its former stature. Our path now leads us past the King Albert Monument and on to the forest playground in Albert Park. Here we take a break and have the opportunity to eat the provisions we have brought with us. After this extensive break, we continue along the Eisenbornbach stream and follow the forest path to Margarethenpark. Once used as a forest recreation area, a plaque now commemorates the Luther oak tree planted here in 1917. On the last section of our hike, we delve into the depths of the Dresden Heath. We lead you along winding and remote paths through the dense forest until we reach the Mordgrundwasser again. There we cross the Katzensteig and finally reach the Weißer Hirsch concert venue. At the end of the event, there is the opportunity to round off the day in the beer garden of the restaurant at the concert venue.
