Was bleibt – Eine literarische Spurensuche | Führung

In the organizer's words:

When Christa Wolf's novella Was bleibt (What Remains) was published in 1990, a vehement discussion broke out in the literary feuilleton about the role of literature in the GDR and its most important representatives. Almost 40 years later, many traces and connections of this literary community can be found at Dorotheenstädtischer Friedhof.

The walk traces various life paths and leads from Anna Seghers to Arnold Zweig, via outsiders such as Wolfgang Hilbig or Thomas Brasch, to Christa Wolf and Heiner Müller, and attempts to trace the image of a failed society whose utopian dream reverberates in its literature.
