In the organizer's words:

This comedy begins with depression. They torment Duke Orsino, who is head over heels in love with Olivia without really having a chance with her. On the contrary: after the death of her brother, the beautiful countess plans not to look at a man for seven long years. How tragic!

What follows: a stormy sea, splintering ship masts, a clever role reversal. The young Viola is stranded on Orsino's coast and, disguised as a man, enters the service of the gloomy duke. She is to woo Olivia's unattainable heart for him. As a man, she inadvertently breaks the beauty's heart herself, while she herself falls head over heels in love with Orsino. It's hard to imagine that at the end of all this confusion, one or the other won't fall dramatically by the wayside.

WHAT YOU WANT, first performed in London in 1602, is one of Shakespeare's most frequently performed works. In this production by Simon Werdelis, the ensemble member's third directorial work at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, students from the drama studio of the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Academy of Music and Theater Leipzig are involved.
