Was machen?! - Bildung und Vernetzung gegen den Rechtsruck

At a time when many people feel powerless in the face of the multitude of social crises and the threat of social achievements falling behind, the "Was machen?!" project aims to help facilitate joint action - independent of political parties, universities and colleges. Twice a month, there are evening discussion groups organized by the Munich association Assoziation E, in which not only discussions are held, but also concrete perspectives for action are developed. Based on current real discourses and social crises, the participants work together to develop approaches on how these problems can be tackled in their own living environment.

How does a meeting work?
Each evening begins with a short input on a current political topic such as racism, sexism or rent, followed by an open exchange. The focus is on the personal experiences and perspectives of the participants: What motivates those present to want to get politically involved? Which developments in particular trigger fear, anger or hope? After a short break, the second half of the evening will be dedicated to concrete opportunities for action: Local initiatives will present their work and ideas will be developed together on howeach individual can become active.

Why should you take part?
"Was machen?!" is aimed at anyone who doesn't just want to talk about problems, but wants to take action. The project sees people in their entirety - as workers, neighbors, family members and citizens. It is about rediscovering your own ability to act and making a difference together with others. The scientific basis of the project is formed by current research on right-wing extremism, democratic participation, social movement research and community organization. These theoretical findings are translated into accessible, everyday language and linked to the concrete experiences of the participants.

Who is behind the project?
"Was machen?!" is organized by a team around the non-profit association Assoziation E e.V., which works closely with local initiatives. The project sees itself as part of a broader movement for democratic renewal and social justice.
