What and united - Demonstration for human rights and democracy

Following a major protest against hatred and hate speech and in memory of the victims of National Socialism around a year ago, the Gelsenkirchen Action Alliance against Racism and Exclusion is once again calling on people to take part in a rally to set a joint example for democracy, human rights and diversity in Gelsenkirchen.

What unites us are the fundamental rights and values that make up our society: Humanity, the rule of law, freedom, pluralism, solidarity and participation.
We reaffirm our commitment to democracy as the best form of government.

A democracy thrives on trust, a sense of responsibility, critical thinking and dialog. Because the way we live together is important to us, we remain in contact and are constantly committed to the principles of our community.

Where these principles are under threat, we are all called upon to speak out and defend democracy.

We need you!
Our democracy needs you!

Now is the time to stand up for our democracy and to be visible and loud as a diverse society.

We are looking forward to a speech by Lord Mayor Karin Welge, and there will also be other spoken and musical contributions from Gelsenkirchen's civil society.
