Wasserrucksack PAUL - ein Lebensretter im Einsatz

In the organizer's words:

Film & talk: PAUL water backpack - a lifesaver in action

The world is a paradise, but time and again disasters strike.

"PAUL" is an ingeniously simple invention by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Franz-Bernd Frechen that enables people in crisis regions to supply themselves with drinkable water. It cleans sustainably without chemicals and without electricity! As a lightweight device, it can be transported on foot to the most remote locations and can be used immediately by non-professionals. It supplies up to 400 people per day.

Experience the inquisitive spirit of a researcher looking for sensible and social solutions during the film and discussion!

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Franz-Bernd Frechen developed the PAUL water backpack at the University of Kassel in the Department of Urban Water Management, funded by the German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU). Large aid organizations such as "Doctors Without Borders" have been working with PAUL for years, but local associations, companies and private individuals are also committed to using it.
You can find information about PAUL here: waterbackpack.org, facebook.com/wasserrucksack

Filmmaker Miriam Steen has been documenting Prof. Frechen and his research at home and abroad for many years. Her award-winning films about PAUL have been shown at numerous national and international festivals. She studied film and television with Prof. Yana Drouz and Prof. David Safarian at the Kunsthochschule Kassel, is a founding member of the NUR film group and co-owner of Mirikal Filmproduktion GbR. She has been an enthusiastic Dulsberger since 2023 and is on board with DulsArt e.V.

The 45-minute film screening will be followed by a Q&A with Prof. Dr.-Ing. Franz-Bernd Frechen, moderated by Miriam Steen . PAUL himself will of course also be on site and would like you to touch and examine him!
