About the exhibition:

What defines us? And how do the voices of female photographers shape and change our view of the world? Through the lens of fourteen female photographers from the Stuttgart local group of the FEMALE PHOTOCLUB e.V., narratives unfold that penetrate deep into the fabric of our time. The exhibition invites visitors to rediscover and appreciate the "female gaze" in photography. This perspective, which has repeatedly triggered new discourses in recent years, takes center stage - as a call to see the world through the eyes of others.

The upcoming exhibition, which is taking place as part of the Photo Summer 2024, presents works under the leitmotif "We rise by lifting others". The selection is more than an exhibition: it is an exploration of the diversity of human experience: From illuminating the hidden corners of our cities and the invisible bonds that interweave us with nature to the silent transformation behind a depression. These works and more are invitations to linger, encouraging us to think beyond the boundaries of the normal and look at the world with a deeper understanding of the diversity of human experience.

The FEMALE PHOTOCLUB e.V. is a network for female photographers that is based on openness, transparency and mutual support and operates under the motto "With each other instead of against each other". The aim is to increase the visibility of female photographers and to draw attention to important industry issues such as fee inequality and a lack of representation. The network offers a space for networking and exchanging experiences. It is characterized by a decentralized organization, with local groups in various German cities. Although it has been active since 2017, the club has been a registered association since 2020 and has 500 members nationwide to date.
