Jasar and Almira are Roma, they belong to a minority that has been living in Germany for centuries. Nevertheless, Roma are still called the Z-word and have to contend with discrimination and prejudice. It's no wonder that many prefer to keep quiet about the fact that they are Roma. They fear professional disadvantages for themselves and bullying at school for their children. Almira and Jasar want to change this, they no longer want to hide, they want to live confidently as Roma in this society. "Away with the Z-word!" gives an insight into the lives of young Roma in Germany.
