How did a resilient Ukrainian civil society emerge - and what has it gone through in over three decades? Prof. Dr. Ihor Shaloba, President of the Pan-European Union of Ukraine, will address these questions in a lecture on political emancipation, social engagement and the mobilization of a nation in the face of Russia's war of aggression.
Prof. Shaloba brings not only deep academic knowledge, but also personal experience: in February 2022, at the age of 58, he volunteered for the territorial defense of Kyiv and later fought with his comrades on the front in eastern Ukraine. After his demobilization in 2024, he returned to academia - and continues to be involved in civil society.
