Great Baroque ensemble works by composers as well-known as they are popular are the focus of this year's Christmas concert by the Heidelberg Philharmonic Baroque Orchestra, framed as usual by a charming presentation by the participating musicians. The program will include Johann Sebastian Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 as well as concerti grossi, solo concertos and ensemble pieces. There will be a reunion - at least for regular visitors to Winter in Schwetzingen - with excerpts from the operas "Mitridate" by Nicola Porpora and "La verità in cimento" by Antonio Vivaldi, which were performed in Schwetzingen a few years ago.
