In the organizer's words:

State Winner Wine Lower Austria - The Winner Tasting

Cult Winegrowers & Wines come to Munich

A warm invitation to all Austria fans to taste the best wines from the Danube in Munich! Unlike the last few years, this time not in Nymphenburg Palace, where renovations are underway, but in the very venerable rooms of the Scholastika in Munich's old town.

What will this festive day look like in 2025?

From 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025, the Scholastikahaus will open its doors in the middle of the picturesque old town and offer almost 50 top winemakers spread over 2 floors a great setting for meeting the Munich public.

The winners and runners-up of the Lower Austrian State Wine Award 2025 are waiting for you there to fill glasses and celebrate with you!
Click here for the list of winemakers attending.

Take a relaxed stroll from one winegrower's table to the next, discover your favorite grape varieties and get to know wonderful people who put their heart and soul into making great winning wines. This is the summer program with a view over the rooftops of the old town!

We bring together the entire who's who of wine origins from Lower Austria on the second and third floors of the fine Scholastikahaus, a hidden place until now.

Always along the Danube, once around Vienna and then up to the north-west, there you will find the vines from whose grapes these award-winning wines were lovingly made!
It is a rare and perfect opportunity to taste the wine-growing regions of Carnuntum, Kamptal, Kremstal and Wachau, as well as Weinviertel, Wagram, Traisental and Thermenregion side by side in a direct comparison: this is what Lower Austria tastes like!

The path to the national winner

Every year, around 920 wineries submit their wines to the Lower Austrian regional wine awards. With over 6,000 wines, it is one of the most successful independent wine competitions in Austria! The wines are tasted undercover by a trained jury of experts. In the first round of tasting, the finalists - the best wines in the 24 varietal categories - are determined. From this group, the jury selects the national winners in a separate final tasting. After the presentation of the results, the best wines in Lower Austria have the right to display their ranking with a corresponding seal.
