What was originally created shortly after the flood as an interim solution has now established itself as the best-known and most popular wine hiking event in the region. From April 26 to May 25, 2025, many different stands will once again be set up along the Red Wine Hiking Trail and in the wine villages of Dernau, Rech, Mayschoß and Altenahr and catered for by various wineries and restaurants. Visitors can discover the culinary diversity of first-class wines, regional delicacies and picturesque nature in the unique wine landscape of the Mittelahr on all weekends and public holidays. In addition to the offerings on the 15-kilometre-long high-altitude trail, many businesses in the wine villages are now also open to visitors. The decision as to which stands and businesses to visit and which wines to sample can be made individually.
In the run-up to the event, the location-specific hiking maps will be published, which will include helpful information such as bus stops and rescue points as well as the locations of the participating businesses and a pram-friendly route. In addition, there will once again be a calendar of events listing all the events taking place during the hiking event.
