Welcome On Board – Strategien für künstlerisches Onboarding und Offboarding

Ladies and gentlemen, on behalf of the crew, I would like to welcome you on board. In the following, we will familiarize you with the conditions on board.

How do we welcome people in digital, hybrid or technology-based spaces of art? How do we communicate our very own rules? How do we ignite the spark of interaction and motivate the audience to actively participate? And what do we want to give our guests as they hopefully make a smooth transition back into everyday life?

Together with host Christiane Hütter, we will explore strategies for onboarding and offboarding. In the open workshop setup, we want to share experiences and new ideas for addressing the audience - whether in game theater, installation or performance.

Together we will discuss approaches for different age groups, levels of experience and communication styles. The workshop is open to artists, dramaturges, curators, mediators and anyone interested in artistic communication in unfamiliar situations. Participants are invited to contribute their own examples and questions.

The medienwerk.nrw office is offering the workshop together with the FFT Düsseldorf as part of the ON/LIVE 2025 festival.
