Werkstattgespräch: Menschenwürde als Grundlage für Klimagerechtigkeit

In the organizer's words:

Climate justice and human dignity are closely linked, as the climate crisis threatens the rights of many people. With this event, we want to bring together perspectives on the climate crisis from the Global South and educational work for the Sustainable Development Goals in Germany. What effects of the climate crisis are we already seeing in the Global South? What strategies have already been found in the Global South and what can we in Germany learn from them?
Four people will report on their work for climate justice and then discuss it with each other:
Yi Yi Prue, lawyer from Bangladesh and winner of the Fritz Bauer Prize of the Humanist Union. In 2021, together with Deutsche Umwelthilfe, she successfully sued for the rights of flood victims in Bangladesh and Nepal before the Federal Constitutional Court.
Ghaiet el Mouna Hajji from Tunisia will report on her work in the Climate Dialogues 2.0 project of Bündnis eine Welt Schleswig-Holstein.
Dr. Hassan Humeida, research associate at GEOMAR and speaker on sustainable development and the consequences of the climate crisis in a global context.
Dr. Biniam Samuel, expert in sustainable urban aquaculture and co-founder of AquaCubes, a company that develops innovative systems for food production in cities. His work focuses on developing innovative and simple systems for fish farming and vertical farming in cities to improve food supply, protect the environment and promote sustainability - both in developed countries and in the Global South."

The event will be held in German and English as part of the International Weeks Against Racism.
