Werner Mally - Bewegtheit der Ruhe

Galerie Seippel has been representing the sculptor Werner Mally since 1995. On the occasion of our 30-year collaboration, we are showing both current bronze casts (lost form) and paper cut sculptures as well as selected pieces from our earlier exhibitions, such as Crisis Bars, Turbulences, Turning Shadows and Drawings.

Werner Mally works with wood, steel, bronze, stone and paper. What all his works have in common, in addition to the respective material fidelity, is the breaking up of the surfaces into the space, the folding, the cutting, the twisting, in addition to an optical spatialization through the play of light and shadow. His interventions are kept to a minimum. Werner Mally tries to remove as little material as possible in order to achieve the greatest possible change in the original form.
