The work of Werner Ruhnau (1922 - 2015) combines architecture with visual and performing arts, thus expanding the concept of space in post-war modernism in a uniquely playful way. The exhibition "Building for the Open Society" presents Ruhnau's oeuvre from his estate, which is located in the Baukunstarchiv NRW and is one of the larger holdings in the collection.

Work, Estate, Context": 16.05. - 27.07.25, atrium in the Baukunstarchiv NRW: In cooperation with the Musiktheater im Revier (MIR) Gelsenkirchen and the Theater der Stadt Münster. The exhibition is sponsored by the LWL Cultural Foundation as part of the cultural program for the anniversary year 2025 "1250 Years of Westphalia". The patron of the cultural program is Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
