Wes Anderson Summer: Moonrise Kingdom

The last movie in our series is: Moonrise Kingdom!

1965, somewhere off the coast of New England. Captain Sharp, sheriff of a small, tranquil island community, is in trouble: Suzy, the daughter of the neurotic Mr. and Mrs. Bishop, has disappeared without a trace, and the sheriff's affair with Mrs. Bishop is in danger of being exposed, which Mr. Bishop shouldn't like at all.

On top of all this, the young boy scout Sam is also absconding from summer camp on the other side of the island at the same time. And the somewhat disoriented head scout Ward has no idea where to go.

What nobody knows yet is that the two runaways are secretly in love with each other and want to run away together. Head over heels, the overwhelmed sheriff and the whole scout camp rush into a chaotic search operation, in which the startled guardians are of little help and, above all, stumble over their own pitfalls.

And when the youth welfare office announces its visit, the already delicate situation threatens to escalate. Until suddenly an approaching thunderstorm forces the heated tempers to cool down...
