In the organizer's words:

11th concert: Westside in the park - Saturday, August 30, 2025 - Music pavilion in Volkspark Rheinhausen - Free admission

What began in 2020 as a spontaneous open-air idea in the midst of the pandemic has long since established itself as a permanent fixture in the west of Duisburg. For five years, Westside e.V. has regularly brought handmade music to the Volkspark Rheinhausen with its "Westside im Park" event series - free, outdoors and with a lot of heart for the cause.

The eleventh edition of "Westside im Park" will take place on Saturday, August 30, 2025. From 3 pm, five bands from Duisburg, Bochum, Oberhausen and the surrounding area will provide a varied afternoon of concerts in the open air.

Gralla, the solo project of Duisburg native Philip Gralla, will be there. With an acoustic guitar, harmonica and a clear edge, he sings folk-punk'n'roll between social criticism and personal everyday life. His fast, catchy songs invite you to tap along - between entertainment and political demands.

Kommando Marlies from Bochum deliver power punk with speed and attitude. The band around scene great Uwe Umbruch (The Revolvers, Public Toys) makes a loud comeback - with organ, dirty sound and a clear statement against stagnation.

Simple Strickts from Oberhausen and Duisburg stand for honest Ruhrpott punk with ironic punk laziness. Active since 2005, they play rarely, but loudly - and preferably where they are known: in the Pott.

Anastasis, founded in 1986 in Rheinhausen, combine punk rock with reggae, grunge and hardcore. Their songs are melodic, full of energy and cannot be pigeonholed. The band is considered a true Westside band and has performed at several Westside concerts. On stage, Anastasis are powerful, dynamic and captivating.

6Pack stand for cover alternative rock - raw, loud and uncompromising. The six musicians, who were born in Rheinhausen, are joined by a guest singer and bring the energy of an entire generation to the stage. With anthems from bands such as Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Linkin Park and Rage Against The Machine, they deliver pure joy of playing, honest sound and an energetic set with real guitar riffs.

As always, there is an open and relaxed atmosphere at "Westside in the Park". People dance in front of the stage while people of all ages enjoy the music together on the lawn. Drinks and snacks are provided - Free admission, donations for the bands are welcome.
