Indigo Women's Counseling Center Remscheid presents an exhibition on rape myths
Myths about sexualized violence still prevail in society.
The assumption that women and girls can provoke or prevent rape by wearing certain clothes is one such myth, which is linked to the attribution of guilt to the victim.
Victims of sexualized violence are never to blame or responsible for the crime!
To mark International Women's Day on 8 March, Indigo Women's Counselling Centre Remscheid is showing an exhibition on myths of sexualized violence designed by SKFM Mettmann e.V. from 11 to 14 March.
These myths are presented using 11 outfits that correspond to those worn by victims of sexualized violence at the time of the crime. In addition to the outfits, there are short statements by the women concerned.
With this exhibition, we want to encourage people to deal with and question myths about sexualized violence.
