What is happening in America? No question is more pressing, more worrying. However, the concern is not entirely new: as early as 1966, during the Vietnam War and the student revolt, the magazine "Partisan Review" sent a questionnaire to leading intellectuals. "Deeply concerned about the direction life in the US is taking", they wanted to know: "Does it matter who is in the White House?" - "How serious is the problem of inflation, the problem of poverty?" - "What about the divide that separates America's government from its intellectuals?" - "Where do you think our foreign policy will lead us?" - "What do you think will happen in America now?"
Based on this legendary questionnaire, political scientist Claudia Brühwiler and political scientists Claus Leggewie and Yasha Mounk develop a description of the current situation in the USA. Moderated by Wolfram Eilenberger
