Who Wants to Live Forever

One of the biggest icons of pop culture was Freddie Mercury. As co-founder of Queen, he thrilled the masses. But even in the most stadium-ready pose, he revealed himself as an artist whose hunger for life touched an existential nerve. His art showed a man's struggle for exhilaration and fulfillment in the knowledge of the abysses, of fall and transience. Mercury never shied away from asking the big questions about life and death.

Ana Yoffe will address precisely these questions in her evening, approaching the person of Freddie Mercury and perhaps even becoming like him. When you feel death, how much do you long for life, how unfairly do you feel treated by fate and when can you make your peace? He has transformed Mercury's longing burning into great music. Ana Yoffe will interpret these songs, combined with lyrics, fragments, perhaps even just fragments of thought on the big questions of life.

Ana Yoffe has already impressively demonstrated her musical and performing skills in the film "Werther - a Few Love Songs" on the digital stage of the Staatstheater Braunschweig in February 2021.
